When we hear the verse, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth," we often interpret it as getting even with those who hurt us. However, Jesus is calling us to go beyond retaliation. He calls us to recalculate the value of our actions and to love our enemies by living with love, mercy, and generosity—because that’s what our Father is like.
In this sermon, Pastor Simon Murphy from Redemption Hill Church discusses three main points: what loving our enemies is all about, why we are called to love our enemies, and how we are able to love our enemies. Watch this sermon by our Guest Preacher, Pastor Simon Murphy, on Matthew 5:38-48.
