As we begin our new sermon series on the Book of Zechariah, we ask three foundational questions: Who is Zechariah, why should we study this book, and what message does God have for His people? That message is introduced in Zechariah 1:1–6, where God’s call to His people is a call to return. Though the people had come back physically, their hearts still needed realignment. Before the Lord speaks of blessing, rebuilding, or restoration, He first addresses direction—not to condemn His people, but to lovingly call them back to Himself. This sermon reminds us that repentance is not merely turning away from sin, but turning back toward a God who is good, just, and gracious.
