Peter reminds believers that our identity is not something we create or achieve—it is graciously given to us by God through Christ. We are His chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and His own possession, called out of darkness and brought into His marvelous light. Because we belong to Christ, we are called not only to treasure our identity but to live it out by belonging to and serving His people, and by proclaiming His excellencies through both our words and our lives. We have received mercy, and this mercy gives us a purpose: to make Christ known wherever God has placed us. You are His. Live like it. Proclaim Him.
